Pediatric care at Families First means an entire team of people working to keep your child healthy. Led by board-certified family nurse practitioner Kimberley O’Mahoney (pictured), the team includes a child-development specialist, a registered nurse focused on the pediatric program, and access to a nutritionist, care coordinators and home visitors.
Caring for your child whether sick or well
If your child is sick or injured, we’ll get you an appointment within 24 hours — usually the same day you call. We also offer stand-by appointments for established patients six days a week beginning at 7:30 a.m. When we’re closed, we have a doctor on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just call our main phone number anytime, and if we’re closed you’ll hear instructions about how to speak with a nurse.
Preventive care to help your child stay well: During Well Child visits, children receive regular checkups, health screenings and immunizations based on the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Services you won’t find elsewhere
In addition to medical care, Families First offers dental care; one-on-one family support; parenting classes and family programs; transportation assistance; social service coordination; help obtaining free prescriptions, insurance coverage and other benefits; nutrition counseling; and on-site lab services.
Easy and Affordable
To make it easy to use Families First’s services, we offer free child care for siblings during appointments, translation, and some assistance with transportation. Important: Please request these services at the time you schedule your appointment.
Famlies First is open to everyone, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. We accept private insurance and Medicaid. If your child is not insured, we’ll help you get insurance. In the rare cases where a child is not eligible for insurance, we’ll offer you a discount based on your income.
