Smart, but Scattered Kids with Dr. Peg Dawson
Tuesday, Aug 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
Back to School season is here!
As we look ahead to a new school year we are excited to welcome school psychologist, Dr. Peg Dawson. Ed.D., to talk to us about executive skills — what they are and why they are so important for our kids.
Children need “executive skills” — such as sustained attention, working memory, planning, organization, and goal-directed persistence — to succeed in school and, more importantly, to get things done in their lives. Some kids seem to acquire these brain-based skills naturally, but many struggle with them. Dr. Dawson, the co-author of the books Smart but Scattered and Smart but Scattered Teens, will describe how these skills develop throughout childhood and suggest strategies parents can use to help children acquire the critical skills they need to be successful.
This event is virtual and a ZOOM link will be emailed to all participants a few days prior to the event. Please contact Patrice if you have any questions.
