Letter to the Editor

Thank you for your article calling attention to the role of Families First Health and Support Center in meeting increased demand for affordable health care during this economic crisis (“Working overtime to meet health care needs,” Herald Sunday, June 28, 2009). I want to make sure that every community member in need of high-quality, affordable health care knows how to get access to our Health Center: The first step is to call 603-422-8208 ext. 1 and request a new-patient information packet.

Also, I would like to acknowledge the broad range of community support that makes it possible for Families First to provide affordable medical care to people who are uninsured. In addition to the recent grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation that was mentioned in your article, others major corporate and foundation supporters of primary health care at Families First include the Foundation for Seacoast Health, the State of New Hampshire, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Exeter Hospital, the Hearst Foundations, United Way of the Greater Seacoast, NH Charitable Foundation, Hyder Enterprises and Bid2Win Software. We are grateful to all of them, as well as to the many, many other foundations, governments, individuals and businesses that support primary care and other services at Families First.
