Artists Chosen for Families First’s Calendar

PORTSMOUTH – Families First Health and Support Center announced which local artists will be featured in its 2010 “Artists of the Seacoast” calendar, the 15th calendar the nonprofit community health center has produced as a fundraiser. The works chosen for the calendar are among 103 in the “Artists of the Seacoast” exhibit, which is at the Discover Portsmouth Center, at the corner of Middle and Congress streets in downtown Portsmouth.

Hampton architect David Lopatich earned the cover spot for “Portsmouth Icon,” an ink-and-marker work depicting the Memorial Bridge, North Church, the Portsmouth Naval Prison and the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.

Representing January through December 2010 will be works by Darlene Furbush Ouelett, Melissa McLeod and Priscilla French, all of Portsmouth; Leslie Doherty and Linda Franklin, both of York; Nancy Hubbe, of Durham; Lisa Haedrich, of Eliot; Patricia Crowley, of Windham; Cleone T. Graham, of Kittery; Edith Pucci Couchman, of Hollis; and Beverly Whitehouse, of Exeter.

Six of the 13 featured artists, including Lopatich, will be appearing in the calendar for the first time in 2010.

The exhibit is open through May 25, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10-5.
