Time Out for Parents

SEABROOK — Take the “stay at-home” out of stay-at-home parenting, and build a little “grownup time” into your week with Parent Recharge, a program of Families First Health and Support Center.

Parent Recharge is a chance to recharge the parenting battery by relaxing with other parents while kids do activities with the childcare staff. It includes crafts, cooking, relaxation activities and tips on making life with kids easier. MJ Keane facilitates the group.

Parent Recharge meets at the Seabrook Community Center at 311 Lafayette Road, every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Advance signup is required for child care (and is appreciated for parents coming alone); call Families First at 603-42-8208 ext. 2. A $2.50 fee will be charged for those who don’t hold a Seabrook Recreation pass, but will be waived if needed.

Families First, the Seacoast’s community health center, has been providing parent education for over 15 years and offers a wide range of classes and support groups as well as affordable health care. For more information, visit www.FamiliesFirstSeacoast.org.

This program is presented in partnership with the Lower Seacoast Youth and Family Collaborative, and is funded in part through Rockingham County Incentive Funds, the State of New Hampshire, the NH Children’s Trust Fund, the Provident Community Foundation, Wheelabrator Technologies and the Towns of Hampton, Seabrook and North Hampton.
