Interested in Volunteering? Or Working with Kids?
If you've thought about volunteering at Families
First, or are just curious about what opportunities we
have, sign up for our no-obligation Volunteer E-News.
Among dozens of opportunities for volunteers, our biggest
needs right now are: Administrative
Assistance (general and in the Homeless Health
Care program) and providing Child Care while
parents attend Families First programs.
In addition to volunteer positions, we have an
opening for a paid child care worker on
Mondays and Tuesdays, 5-8 p.m. If interested in the child care
volunteer or paid positions, e-mail Parkie or call her at 422-8208 ext.
124. For other volunteer opportunities, contact Laura at ext.

| Holiday Schedule
Families First is open every weekday during the holidays
except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
However, parenting groups and family programs will not be held
December 24 through January

Program of the Month: Dental Center
Families First Dental
Center recently expanded its eligibility criteria to serve
more people! Children and teens can now get dental care at
Families First if they are referred by any Families First
or Community Campus program or by York County Head Start, or
if they have NH Healthy Kids Gold insurance and live in
Portsmouth, Greenland, Hampton, New Castle, Newington, North
Hampton, Rye or Stratham. Adults can use the center if they
are Families First Health Center patients or referred by other
selected agencies. Saturday appointments are available. If you
know someone who doesn't have a dentist and falls within the
criteria above, call 603-422-8208 ext.

Families First Consumers: Your Input is Needed
What services should Families First provide? Whom should
we serve? Where should we offer services? What do we do well?
What could we do better? If you have used Families First's
services, we need your input on questions like these. There
are two ways to get involved, and both include free
child care while we pick your brain:
- Come to a Focus Group on December 12 at
5:30. Free pizza is provided.
- Join our Consumer Advisory Council,
which meets the second Wednesday of each month from
6-7:30.
Registration is needed, especially for child care.

422-8208 ext. 145. |
| Drive of the Month: Bed, Bath and Kitchen
Items
Each month, Families First collects different items to
pass on to our clients who need them. Thank you for
all your generous winter outerwear donations last month! We're
helping to keep our neighbors warm this winter. Through late
December, we're collecting bed, bath and kitchen items,
including new and gently used sheets, blankets, towels,
potholders, curtains, mats, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
While you're out shopping for the holidays, keep in mind some
of your neighbors who could use your help. Please drop
items off at the Families First Family
Center. | |
